AKJ_Irago Sea Park & Spa Internship

Hi all,

I've just got back from a two week internship/work experience program, which I undertook at Irago Sea Park & Spa, which is a resort in the south of Aichi Prefecture.

The hotel is on the coast, and was quite busy over the recent Obon holiday. Irago is a nice place to visit, but is a bit inconvenient without a car. The appeal is most in spring or summer as it's on the beach. Also, it's definitely not where you go for shopping or anything like that...

Anyway, because it's a reasonable distance from Nagoya, the internship students usually stay there for the duration of the internship. In hindsight, I'm glad that I got to go on an internship like that. I enjoyed seeing a different part of Japan...

I had a great time, got to do something different, and met some interesting people. Although I was a bit apprehensive prior to going - I imagined terrible language disasters for myself - I had a lot of fun once I got there...I even met an Australian who was staying at the hotel (are there really that many of us around...?)

Even though I was there to work (mostly taking luggage to rooms or in the restaurant), I did manage to have a bit of a look around. Here are some of the photo's I took around the area, as well as of the hotel!

The Hotel

The above is like a games room - I worked there a few times...

One of the restaurants - I also worked here.

It's a bit of a shame that the weather wasn't that great when I took most of the pictures outside...

 The hotel's beach...

Around the area

Again, the weather wasn't that great...

On the other hand, on this day...I was kind of surprised that there were so many wind turbines around out there...

Activities

We were lucky enough to be allowed to participate in the kids fire-cracker event twice!

I also volunteered at a local festival, which was interesting!

The photo is terrible, but that's the stall I helped at - cooking frankfurters (or I think that's what they were... a sausage is a sausage as far as I'm concerned...)

I tried some dango while helping...so tasty!

I really did have a great time. Thanks to everyone at the hotel!
お世話になりました!ありがとうございました!

AKJ_Toyota Factory Visit

Hi all,

Since I'm in Nagoya, Aichi - famous for Toyota, I'm glad I got the opportunity to go to the Toyota factory. We couldn't take photos inside the actual car making factory, but we went to a kind of showroom including futuristic cars and such as well...so, here are some photos from that part of the trip to Toyota!

Apparently, the robot is actually playing the trumpet!

Well, hope you find it interesting!

Thanks!
